Kedhar / Choora Fish Pickle (Kerala Style)
Kedhar (Choora/tuna) fish pickle is a rich and spicy Kerala delicacy made from fresh tuna pieces cooked and preserved in a flavorful blend of traditional spices. The fish is first cleaned, marinated with turmeric, salt, and chili powder, then fried to a firm texture. It is later mixed with a fragrant masala prepared using mustard seeds, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, fenugreek, and a generous amount of chili powder.
The pickle is finished with tangy vinegar and oil, which enhances its shelf life and deepens the flavor. Each bite offers a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and slightly smoky taste, with soft yet firm fish pieces coated in thick, aromatic masala.
