Urukku Enna (ഉരുക്ക് എണ്ണ) is a traditional Kerala-style clarified coconut oil prepared by gently heating coconut milk or coconut oil until impurities separate and settle, leaving behind a rich, aromatic, golden oil.

Urukku enna is essentially pure, clarified coconut oil made through a slow heating process. Unlike regular coconut oil, it has a deeper aroma, slightly nutty flavor, and longer shelf life due to the removal of moisture and residues.

How it’s made

• Fresh coconut is grated and milk is extracted
• The coconut milk is heated slowly
• Water evaporates and solids separate
• Clear oil rises to the top and is filtered
